WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO INSTIL GOOD MORAL VALUES INTO STUDENTS?
In the recent years, there has been a pressing issue on instilling good moral values into students. People say that students nowadays tend to ignore moral values and become too liberated. I believe that it is essential to strictly impart the right principles to students before it becomes a serious social issue.
Students need to be taught good moral conduct while they are still young. By doing so, they develop a more responsible attitude in the society. With the many influences around them, it may be difficult to identify what is right and wrong. For instance, indecent scenes in films or on the television, they might automatically think that it is acceptable to do such things. Consequently, those who are not given proper guidance when it comes to possessing good moral attribute while they are young, have the tendency to cause a problem in the society. This is because they do not have a good foundation for moral standards. On the other hand, if they are properly guided by their parents or teachers, they can distinguish which things are appropriate and which are not. Eventually, they learn to have a high sense of accountability of their own actions.
Students who possess proper behavior can also have a high regard of influence. This kind of influence has a domino effect to humanity. For example, if a child sees someone who displays a good attitude, that child will most likely follow the latter. In contrast, if someone is bad-mannered, a child will also do the same. Since, it does not take overnight to build a good character in a person, it is therefore vital to maximize these kinds of learning while they are still at a young age, at school or at home. Considering a long-term effect, if students are taught with this, they are likely to hand over these values to their children in the future.
Overall, the importance of imparting good moral values to students is greatly influenced by how much we want to maintain a decent society. In order to do so, we have to start educating them at young age.
